The SiBrass Quintet was founded in 2011 by five solo players and members of other Slovenian orchestras. Its members are persistently exploring new performance options and taking up new challenges in interpretation of solo or chamber pieces. Their virtuosism and spontaneity are a magnet for the audience. Each of the members has been cooperating for years with renowned brass players and teaming up with top interpreters. A very creative and malleable ensemble with a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, they will be performing together with German trumpet player Reinhold Friedrich, a regular guest of the most prestigious international stages ever since 1986, when he won the first prize at the ARD International Music Competition. He performs works from all the periods of ancient music on historical instruments, as well as modern solo pieces. He has been the first trumpet of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra ever since its establishment and the Art Director of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra's Brass Ensemble, in addition to being a renowned professor of renowned academies of music in London, Aarhus, Karlsruhe and Hiroshima.
