The Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra consists of selected musicians, members of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. In more than twenty years of its activity, the ensemble gave nearly 500 concerts in Slovenia and abroad. Its repertoire includes compositions of all period styles. It dedicates special attention to Slovenian composers, including the emerging young ones. All confirming the highest quality, the role and importance of the Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra in the field of musical performance in Slovenia and Europe. The ensemble has received many awards for its successful work: the Prešeren Fund Award in 1999, the Župančič Award in 2004, the Betetto Charter in 2006, and the Ljubljana City Award in 2012.
The orchestra has played many times in Nova Gorica. This time the Orchestra will be performing together with the excellent violin player Žiga Brank, who has been perfecting his musical knowledge in Germany and in numerous master classes with internationally renowned professors. He can boast of a rich opus of recordings he made for the archives of RTV Slovenia, and an international career as a chamber musician in the company of excellent musicians, but above all as a soloist with many renowned orchestras.
