Schubert Octet has been created by a group of exceptional musicians who meet and play music together at various festivals around the world and who share the same devotion for music. Alexander Janiczek started as concertmaster at Camerata Salzburg. Later, he conducted the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, with whom he continues to cooperate on a regular basis. On stage, he will be joined by the young violinist Tanja Sonc. The violist is Ettore Causa. Finnish cellist Timo Veikko Valve is a soloist of the Australian Chamber, whereas Iztok Hrastnik has played double bass with the Vienna Philharmonics for several years. The wind instruments will be played by Maximiliano Martin, the clarinet soloist of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and Žarko Perišić, the bassoonist from the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra. Last but not least, there is hornist Boštjan Lipovšek who is actually the creator of the orchestra's story. His great love for music, and especially chamber music, has brought to the present concert programme performed by musicians who know each other and cooperate; nevertheless, this will be their first debut together.
