Winners of the 10th SVIREL International Competition
Trio Metamorfoze are young talented Latvian musicians, graduates of the Latvian Jāzeps Vītols Academy of Music. They have been regularly performing together since 2015 in Latvia as well as abroad; in Belgium, Germany and Slovenia to name just a few countries. Their musical repertoire puts Baroque and Classical compositions next to contemporary musical creations. Many of the latter were written specifically for them since they have been successfully cooperating with many European and Mexican composers. However, they do not only prove their virtuosity at concerts, but also in competitions. In 2017, the trio won 3rd prize in the Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Competition in Germany in the division for two flutes and piano, and in 2018, they won in the 10th SVIREL International Competition in the category of professional chamber ensembles with woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. This concert is a reward for their achievement.
