Nokturno žlahtnih duš (eng. Nocturne of Noble Souls) is the new project and album
of the chanson singer Vita Mavrič which was created together with the composer and pianist Jaka Pucihar.
Despite the exceptional and particular arrangements performed by top musicians, you will surely recognize the songs that were sung by Arsen Dedić in his distinctive voice. On the other hand, Vita's interpretation and the Slovene lyrics will explore completely new layers of these excellently performed stories. Songs by Arsen Dedić and his fellow artists (such as Gino Paoli, Kemal Monteno, Georges Brassens and Trent Reznor) are sung in Slovene not only because of Vita's respect for her mother's tongue or to overcome eventual language barriers, but because, for more than 30 years she has been very conscious of the uniqueness of the Slovenian language. It is a language where emotions are reflected in their own way and where stories, albeit identical, are not exactly that. The audience will witness a minimalistic fusion of chansons and jazz that will involve lost and always remembered love stories.
