Our musical cosmopolitans are somehow also musical migrants. The term "migration" usually describes emigration or immigration of people from one place to another with intention of settling at a new geographic region. In terms of music history, the concept can be problematic because on the one hand, musicians have often been mobile. On the other hand, they haven't always had the intention of settling in the new location. This still holds true for many Slovenian musicians working abroad. What their intentions may be in the future we cannot know. However, we are happy to see their talents, that have grown in prestigious foreign ensembles, being presented on our stage. Violinists Matjaž Bogataj and Petra Kovačič, violist Gea Pantner Volfand, cellist Jaka Stadler, bassist Iztok Hrastnik, flautist Brina Kafol, clarinettist Tomaž Močilnik, bassoonist Tonko Huljevin, hornist Andrej Žust have formed an ensemble for the occasion and have gone on a short concert tour around Slovenia. In Ljubljana, Maribor and Nova Gorica they will perform two octets by the Czech and German composers Anton Reicha and Heinrich Hofmann, and one piece taken from the Slovenian musical treasury.
Programma:
A. Reicha:
Octet in E-flat major, op. 96

A. Kumar:

H. Hofmann:
