HARPS FUSION: NICOLETTA SANZIN & PATRIZIA TASSINI
Kromberk Castle
X. season - III. concert
HARPS FUSION
NICOLETTA SANZIN, harp
PATRIZIA TASSINI, harp
The third concert will feature an interesting chamber ensemble rarely heard in our hous – a harp duo. The harp is a powerful symbol of music, poetry, love and otherworldliness. On the other hand, harp is considered an instrument which is one of the most difficult to command technically. Interestingly enough, the harp used to be played by men, whereas nowadays is almost exclusively played by women. And the two female harpist will also take stage at the Kromberk Castle. Both distingued Italian harpists, Nicoletta Sanzin and Patrizia Tassini are already known to the local audience, however, they have never performed together for our public. They both graduated suma cum laude and have reinforced their mastery with best awards at different national and international competitions. They regularly perform as soloists and in chamber ensembles at home and abroad. Patrizia Tassini has led many masterclasses, is professor of harp at the Jacopo Tomadini Conservatory in Udine, and conducts the Ventaglio d’Arpe Orchestra. Nicoletta Sanzin has regularly collaborated with young composers who dedicate new works to her which she always includes in her concert programmes. It will be a pleasure to hear a novelty work entitles Ricercari di bravura Maria Pagotta which will be premiered right here, in the Goriška region.
