SANJA REPŠE, cello and ALEKSANDRA PAVLOVIČ, piano
Kromberk Castle
SANJA REPŠE, cello
ALEKSANDRA PAVLOVIČ, piano
The 10th cycle of chamber music evenings at the Kromberk Castle will begin with the concert of two excellent Slovenian musicians who performed together for the first time already in adolescence, and have consolidated their friendship (on stage) during the study in Moscow. Since then, they have embarked on a musical journey that has been going on for more than 25 years now. The cellist Sanja Repše is noted for her artistic creativity, in-depth knowledge and an excellent technical performance, a coherent expression of the works of art and a refined and soft interpretation as well as a clear and decisive cello tone. The velvety sound of the instrument will be accompanied by the sound of the piano. The pianist Aleksandra Pavlovič is a musician with an innate sensitivity to the sound of the instrument and an excellent technical and virtuous performance. Her dedication to artistic perfection makes her an impressive interpreter.
Works by Sergei Rachmaninov will be presented during the evening. To start off, we will have the opportunity to hear his colossal and technically inexorable sonata of symphonic dimensions, whereas in the second part, some of his most beautiful solos that Sanja Repše has arranged for cello and piano.
