ALEKSANDER GADŽIJEV, piano
The concert at 20.15 is just for the 41. concert season ticket holders.
An evening of piano music with the talented local pianist Aleksander Gadjiev, which is considered one of the best Slovenian pianists of the younger generation. In 2012 he graduated magna cum laude from the Bruno Maderna Conservatory in Cesena. In 2013, he enrolled at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he is currently studying with Pavel Gililov and finishing a post-graduate study. He has received numerous prestigious prizes at piano competitions. A notable milestone in his career came in 2015, when he won first prize and the audience prize at the 9th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition. The competition jury consisted of the noted pianists Martha Argerich, Sergei Babayan, Pavel Nersessian and Akiko Ebi, the last of whom, as jury chairperson, remarked that „[Gadjiev’s] strength lies in the originality and creativity of his interpretation. It is based on tradition, but goes well beyond the traditional confines of music.” Moreover, his technique and virtuosity receive only glowing reviews.
Despite his young age, Gadjiev is a regular guest pianist on Japanese as well as other important concert stages. He has collaborated with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro della Fenice, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and many others. He has also worked with some of the most famous conductors: Yuri Temirkanov, Marek Pijarowski, Tatuya Shimono etc. When BBC listed him among New Generation Artists of 2019, a window of opportunity has opened even wider. Kulturni Dom Nova Gorica is pleased to welcome back Alexander Gadjiev, whom we have followed from a young age and who managed to break through to the world piano stage.
