Vienna is one of the world capitals closest to Slovenia geographically and, throughout history, the two nations have shared a close link. Great artistic achievements were created in Vienna, since it was home to important artists and minds. The programme chosen by our most prominent musicians for this concert is closely connected to this charming metropolis. At the concert you will hear some original Viennese melodies, miniatures of famous Viennese composers, as well as the influences of minorities who have always contributed to the formation of a specific musical language and especially its dialects. »A Wiener Melange« as a kind of mixture of old and new, with a touch of ethnic influences that have always been present in this area and have co-created the musical expression and given the city a recognizable stamp.
The sounds of Viennese cafes, evening soirees, the elegance of bourgeois balls, spiced with the full-bloodedness and fieriness of Gypsy, Balkan, Hungarian and Oriental music, which have contributed to the city's pulse and eclectic musical language. All this will be recreated by exceptional musicians who invite us to visit Vienna with them and feel its special musical vibrations.
Draft programme:
L. Godowsky, F. K. Kreisler, D. Šostakovič, F. Schubert, F. Liszt, T. Boehm, A. F. Doppler
