Clarinet player Dušan Sodja and piano player Tatjana Kaučič have founded Duo Claripiano in 1994. They have been a pair in music and in private life ever since. They both graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and got their Master's Degrees from the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Performing in concerts gave them the opportunity to tread onto important stages in Slovenia and abroad. They have made three records together: 'Legends' (2000) with classical pieces of the 20th Century, which has won the acclaim of critics in the BBC Music Magazine. In 2004, they have independently published 'Meetings' with works of Slovenian composers, whom they have dedicated the record. In January 2012, the Slovenian Philharmonic has published their record 'Romantic Claripiano' with the most beautiful sonatas of Romantic composers (Saint-Saëns, Schumann, and Brahms). The recordings have obtained stellar reviews by US magazine The Clarinet: "The playing of Dušan Sodja and Tatjana Kaučič is magical. The great variety of tone colours from both instruments combined with their subtle nuanced phrases make this a very special collaboration... This is one of the finest duos that I have ever encountered."
At this concert, where they will be joined by guest performer, cello player Martin Sikur, the musicians will present the creative works of composers of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well a piece by Slovenian composer Ljubo Renčigaj, dedicated to Duo Claripiano.
