Specialist in early plucked string instruments, Rolf Lislevand is among the leading and most original personalities of the early music scene. As a soloist and with his ensemble he has toured throughout the world and recorded many award-winning albums for labels such as ECM and Naïve (Astrée-Auvidis). He collaborates on a regular basis with musicians such as Jordi Savall. Professor at the Hochschule fur Musik in Trossingen and the CNSMD de Lyon, he is often invited to give masterclasses for lute and improvisation.
Unique composer and guitarist Dušan Bogdanović has explored musical languages which are reflected in his style today: a synthesis of classical, jazz, and ethnic music. As a soloist and in collaboration with artists such as Charlie Haden, James Newton and Milcho Leviev, he has toured worldwide and recorded close to 20 albums. He has taught guitar, composition and improvisation at the University of Southern California, San Francisco Conservatory and the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève. His Counterpoint for Guitar, with Improvisation in the Renaissance Style and Study in Motivic Metamorphosis has been published by Berben editions in 1996.
Jean-Yves Haymoz is professor of early music theory (counterpoint, rhetoric, notation) at the Haute école de musique de Genève and retired professor at the CNSMD Lyon. Particularly known for his pioneering work in the field of Renaissance polyphonic improvisation about which he wrote numerous articles, he has been regularly giving conferences and workshops around Europe, as well as in Japan. Organist and singer, he is the artistic director of the ensemble Alternatim and the co-founder of the ensemble Le Chant sur le Livre.
Guitarist and lutenist Bor Zuljan is regularly performing as a soloist, with his ensemble La Lyra, as well as with different other ensembles. Since 2011 he has been working as research assistant at the Haute école de musique de Genève on a project on Renaissance fantasia improvisation on lute, the subject of his PhD thesis. Lute professor at the Conservatoire Populaire de Genève, he has given conferences and masterclasses on improvisation at institutions such as the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice.
