The four-day workshop, aimed at jazz saxophone, will be conducted by two renowned saxophonists: Daniele D'Agaro from Udine (Italy) and Boštjan Simon from Nova Gorica. The workshop that will end with the concert by the participants of Saxophone Summer School in the large theatre hall of Kulturni dom Nova Gorica is suitable for participants from the 4th grade of lower music school onwards.

Work programme:

• individual lessons with mentors,
• preparation and study of the compositions for the final performance,
• attending concerts of the SAXGO21, concert analysis with mentors
• Daniele D'Agaro: detailed presentation of the programme
• TONE PRODUCTION BASICS. Sound and universe. Body-ear-brain at work.
• SCALES What scale do you come from? Scales from around the world.
• INTERVAL. So close, so far - so far, so close.
• MELODY. Make your own melody.
• HARMONY. Tonal organisation in the Western system.
• RHYTHM. No rhythm no movement. Everything is rhythm.
• ENSAMBLE. Let's play together.
• MUSICAL NOTATION. Ear and eye.

Registration fee:

• 90 €

The registration fee includes:

• two lessons (2 x 60 min) with each mentor,
• masterclass with American saxophonist and composer Steve Lehman (group viewing of live stream with mentor and moderator Boštjan Simon in the atrium of the Nova Gorica Town Hall on Thursday, 1 July 2021, at 17.00)
• performance at the final concert in the large theatre hall of Kulturni dom Nova Gorica and
• study materials.

Age limit:

• suitable for participants from the 4th grade of lower music school onwards

During Saxophone Summer School additional leisure activities will be organised.
