Miroslav Krleža’s masterpiece Ballads of Petrica Kerempuh is the common thread in the programme of the Croatian Radiotelevision Choir, thoughtfully interwoven with piano music by composers of many countries and the modern work of a contemporary Finnish artist. Petrica Kerempuh, the Croatian Till Eulenspiegel, has inspired many Croatian contemporary composers with its musicality and rhythm (it is written in the Kajkavian dialect). The selection of songs about the folk trickster presents the history of the Croatian nation and addresses humanism.
