Kammersymphonie Berlin was founded in 1991 by Jürgen Bruns who has led the orchestra to the present day. As the Berlin Wall fell, the ensemble brought together musicians from different orchestras, especially those from East Berlin. Their repertoire focuses on music from the classical modernist era, debut concerts of newly created works, played as a large symphonic orchestra or as a smaller chamber ensemble. However, at the core of their performances are German compositions of the early 20th century and works by composers who were outlawed by Nazi Germany. The orchestra collaborates with a series of important contemporary composers thanks to the endeavours of its artistic director and conductor Jürgen Bruns. His conceptual concert programming combines classical music with other art forms and often presents a challenge to other traditional forms of national theatres and concert halls thus opening doors to a new audience. He has successfully worked with Slovenian musicians as well, and has been chief conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Soloists of the Society of Slovene Composers.

At the last concert of the season, the orchestra KAMMERSYMPHONIE BERLIN Oskar Laznik1will be accompanied by the Slovenian saxophone soloist Oskar Laznik who won several national and international competitions.
