Kromberk Castle

MARTIN BELIČ, FLAVTA& IVAN FERČIČ, KLAVIR

Hear two leading performers of the younger generation. Flautist Martin Belič studied at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, first with Professor Irena Grafenauer and then with Professor Michael Martin Kofler. During his studies he won several prestigious awards and later began gaining recognition as an orchestral musician and a soloist. He played in the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 2007 he became the 2nd flutist in one of the best European orchestras, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. A distinguished music critic Marijan Zlobec once wrote: “Martin Belič continues a great tradition of the Slovene concert flautists of the last half of the century, from Boris Čampa and Irena Grafenauer to contemporary players, he is one of the representatives of the world concert flute.”

At the Kromberk Castle he will perform with pianist Ivan Ferčič, who graduated summa cum laude in the class of Tatjana Ognjanovič at the Ljubljana Academy of Music in 2008. He attended international piano schools and early started giving solo and chamber music performances. As a student he took part in international and the majority of national competitions. He received several golden awards and represented Slovenia at the 1st European Union Piano Competition, organized by EPTA in June 2009.
