Antal Zalai, violin

The Zagreb Soloists are one of the leading orchestras in the countries of the former federation. Ever since its founding in 1953, when it was led by the famous cello player Antonio Janigro, the orchestra attracted the best national and international soloists, who were aiming for sophistication in their performance. The joint efforts have brought the orchestra onto the most prestigious international stages, having given over 3,500 concerts and received an array of prestigious awards thus achieving extraordinary fame on an international level. Since 2012 they have been performing under the baton of Sreten Krstić who is also the concert master of the Munich Philharmonic. The concert in Nova Gorica will be enriched by the guest appearance of Antal Zalai, a world-famous Hungarian violinist, who drew the attention of the public in his teens with his extraordinary talent, accurate technique and refined musical sense. He has been playing with renowned orchestras and famous conductors ever since.
